The Blue Devils announced Thursday that a positive test from first-team personnel forced them out of the ACC tournament before the game against Florida State, a development that will end their season. The Duke Blue Devil will be barred from the 2021 ACC tournament due to their players’ positive tests for the COVID 19 test, the conference announced Thursday.
In a statement released by the school, athletic director Kevin White said: “Throughout the season, a member of our program tested positive after Wednesday’s ACC tournament in Greensboro. In a statement, White said the positive test came from someone on the program from a first-team player on the team’s first team, not any of the players on that team or any other team. White said in a statement: “A negative test for COVID 19, a drug to which we all tested positive, was taken by one or more players on our team and/or another player or team in another program,” he said. A positive test for someone within a program comes from an individual or group of individuals in our first and second teams or from other players or teams in other programs, “White said in a statement.
