Trade deal, UK elections and Federal Reserve meeting dominate the major investor concerns.

Posted on December 28, 2019December 27, 2019 by Cynthia Berlin

It has been reported on Tuesday that the negotiators of the United States have asked the officials from China to make a commitment of buying a few agricultural purchases before the deal happens. China on the other hand wants that the purchases must be in proportion to the rollbacks of the tariffs in United States being rolled back. The political Parties in Britain have been heading into a stretch of campaigning before the landmark general elections which take place on Thursday and are going to be pivotal when it comes to economic policy and Brexit. Boris Johnson the Prime Minister and his party the Conservative Party are the favorites to come out of the elections with the majority however the opinion polls have in recent weeks been getting closer than ever.

As the elections are looming, the GDP has been becoming flat in the United Kingdom and in the month of October it had grown at a pace which is the slowest in seven years and has risen by only 0.7% in comparison to the growth in the month of October in 2018. It had shrunk in the two months prior to that and the figures had represented a three month period where no growth took place for the first time in this decade.

The Federal Reserve in the United States had kicked off their final monetary policy meeting for the year and this meeting is expected to last two days. There is a projection that the central bank is going to hold their rates steady.

The Wall Street stocks had traded a little better on this Tuesday as the investors had monitored the trade relations between China and United States.
